Loewe rose puzzle bag3/11/2023 Its products are manufactured in Barcelona and Getafe, but the design team has been based in Paris since 2014, under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson. Like most luxury brands, Loewe continues to be made in its birthplace, Spain. (Fun fact: Loewe is LVMH’s oldest fashion house.) Where are Loewe bags made? In other words, you can always trust Loewe because you get timeless pieces that will last you a lifetime. Its century-old story is indicative of the house’s talent in crafting high quality leather goods with enduring appeal. Off the bat, if its age is any indication, then yes, Loewe is a good brand. For over 175 years, the brand has not only taken pride in its leather heritage but furthered its craftsmanship through constant innovation, allowing it to remain a top contender in the world of fashion. Among these go-to brands is Loewe.Ī Spanish luxury brand founded in 1846, Loewe (pronounced loh- wev-eh) specializes in the leather craftsmanship of accessories, clothes, and of course, handbags. However, the more discerning fashion enthusiasts out there know that there’s a plethora of other brands to choose from. The stitches around the slats where the strap pass through are especially wonky and uneven, which baffles me.Let’s face it: Oftentimes, when one thinks of designer handbags, the trinity of Hermès, Chanel, and Louis Vuittonquickly comes to mind. You can also see the sloppy back parts (the reverse side when you sew on a sewing machine) here: What’s more, it seems the stitches are also sloppier and wider–not ideal for fine thread (the thinner the thread, the smaller the stitches should be the thicker the thread, the wider the stitches can be) in terms of sturdiness. I’ve also included some side-by-sides of the original puzzle bag and the newer puzzle edge bag, so you can clearly see the differences in the quality of their make. They’ve just cut and sewn it to mimic the effect but not the way the original worked. See how instead of separate puzzle pieces, the bag is just sewn together to imitate the lines on the original? There aren’t separate pieces on top of a bag base. Here’s why:įirst of all, they’ve gone with a simplified version of the puzzle bag’s construction, which pretty much ruins the beauty and ingenuity of the original. When I looked for more photos, I could immediately tell that this was inferior, even without inspecting it up close. Indeed I didn’t really notice at first until I saw it in photos and noted that the way it looked when folded and carried was different. The PUZZLE BAG is also NOT TO BE CONFUSED with the newer PUZZLE EDGE BAG, which looks similar, is more expensive, but not as well made. My only concern here is getting dust out of the gaps in the future :)) I would also avoid any iteration in suede, as that would be even harder to clean, especially in those tight spots. I also like that the puzzle pieces are made of the same material as the base bag, and not a thinner material. Nickel-plated brass hardware, including bag feet. PHOTO BY LOEWE Amazona 28 bag in classic calfskin, P145,200, LOEWE, Born in the 1980s just like the Flamenco bag, the Amazona will always be one of the house’s enduring icons. Having to cut, edge, and sew all those pieces together (even if sewn by machine) is a lot of work, and, for such a practical bag, that’s great added value given the price tag (ranging from $2,000-4,000 or so, depending on size, leather type, variation, etc.) The construction of the bag is also labor intensive. The iconic shape is updated every season, with this year showing the new hobo shoulder style in an array of different colorways. You can see as you keep scrolling, that it’s been a firm favorite for the street style set since its inception in 2015. Not as bad as some others I’ve encountered haha. The Puzzle bag is quickly becoming the Loewe version of a Chanel 2.55a timeless classic. Up close, the edge finishes are good but not great. Edge finishing is good, stitches are consistent and clean (looks to be machine sewn, but well), and the leather feels supple and not plasticky. The bags are priced at around the same tier as Saint Laurent, Celine, Givenchy, etc., but I would dare say that the make is a bit better. Partly because I love origami, but also because any bag that cleverly folds flat is always a plus. Loewe’s puzzle bag is one that I have always liked from afar. Gears tactics timeline3/11/2023 Overwatch is a useful technique for keeping your allies covered. You also have stim grenades for your allies, and the ability to stick grenades to surfaces and leave a trap for your enemies. Throwing grenades is also important, especially for clearing emergence holes. If you almost killed him and your magazine is still full, shoot him again! There are dials and metres absolutely everywhere indicating the percentage chances of landing a hit, or more on a target.īut Gears has more than just guns. But with these three moves, you could take cover, and shoot at an enemy. You’ll have a set number of rounds in your weapon, which act partially as actions, and once you’re empty, you’ll need to use the action, reload. Reloading has always been important in Gears, and it is here also. Most games of what you might call the XCOM genre, allow units to make 2 actions during their turn. In most games in the genre these options include things like attacking, taking point, reloading, healing, or hunkering. You move each of your units, and apply your tactical decisions based on the number of action points each unit has. If you’ve never played a turn based tactical game, the set-up is relatively straight forward. All the older Gears of War weapons are here as well, from the original Gnasher to the classic Lancer and Snub pistol. The hopelessness, the darkness, the despair and sorrow… this is what made Gears of War one of the greatest games of last generation, and I am thrilled to be back here. And from this moment you begin to appreciate how much Gears of War’s original setting contributed to the success of the franchise. No Deebees, Swarm, or Pendulum wars to be seen. E-Day, the hammer of dawn, the Locust… all present and correct. This is a true Gears campaign.Īs I mentioned before, the setting is one more familiar to older Gears of War veterans. I will completely omit story from this review as a gesture of goodwill to all those interested in the game but believe me when I say the game is not fooling around and making a half-baked narrative to go with the tactical gameplay. In no time at all you meet a few other Gears and add them to your squad, and then you hit the warzone. Your main character is Gabe, a once promising combatant turned mechanic. The game, to my absolute delight, starts around the time of Chairman Prescott’s infamous usage of the Hammer of Dawn on Sera. It’s very difficult to circumnavigate spoilers when dealing with Gears of War, but I’ll do my best. So you can imagine my shock when I fired up Gears Tactics and found myself playing something that was not only a superior Gears of War experience to what we’ve had in recent entries, but also one of the best turn-based strategy games in years. With the mobile game and plans for other mobile properties all tied up in a little bow, Gears appeared to be taking on a multimedia personality. Gamers would be forgiven for hearing that Gears of War was getting a tactical spin-off and thinking little of it. AuthorWrite something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
